What Is Wrong with Vegetarianism?
Quotes on Slavery
"I became vegan the day I realized standing up for the rights of others was more important to me than any perceived benefits I would gain from their exploitation."

Veganism is a rejection of violence towards other animals. This means we don't eat them or products that come from them, don't wear their skin, don't buy products that have been tested on them, and don't go to places that use them for entertainment such as zoos, rodeos and marine parks.
Other animals are not "things" for us to use, but individuals who value their lives just as much as we value ours. We shouldn't participate in intentional and avoidable harm towards them, when we have absolutely no need to. It's not necessary for our health or any other reason, and it's easy and wonderful to be vegan!

~ Donald Watson, who coined the word "Vegan" in 1944.
Is a plant-based diet healthy?
The American Dietetic Association states that "appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes." [source]

Note: Veganism can have great environmental and health benefits, but first and foremost, it's about other animals and their right not to be enslaved and exploited by humans. It's important to remember that and never lose sight of the victims.
